KEY PERSONNEL

Robert V. Shields
President, CEO, and Director

Mr. Shields has 29 years industry experience in drilling, completions, facilities, reservoir evaluations, land negotiations and generating exploitation drilling prospects. His early years of employment were with major companies including Baroid of Canada, Pacific Petroleums Ltd., PetroCanada, Occidental International and ICG Resources Ltd. Mr. Shields has supervised oil and gas operations in Libya, Philippines, Brunei (offshore), Continental USA, Western Canada and the Arctic. Over the last twelve years, he has been a partner/owner in the private companies of Boundless Energy Incorporated, The Predator Corporation (Predator I) and The Predator Corporation Ltd. (Predator II). Mr. Shields, in these companies, has generated high impact natural gas prospects in Western Canada. These companies have collectively spent CDN$73.5 million generating a total exit value of approximately CDN$520 million. Mr. Shields holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from the University of Alberta.

John C. Loewen
Interim CFO, and Director

John Loewen is CEO of Loewen & Partners and has 19 years of international experience in finance and building companies. From 1987 to 1996 he was a partner of the stock broking firm Ivor Jones, Roy & Co. in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he was a No.1 ranked research analyst. In 1996, the partners of Ivor Jones, Roy sold their business to Deutsche Bank and John became a Director of Deutsche Bank Securities. During 1997 to 1999, John worked primarily on investment banking transactions, executing deals over ZAR 1 billion in value. In 1999, he was transferred to Deutsche Bank’s Toronto office, as head of Equities Sales and Trading, however, by 2000 Deutsche closed its Canadian equities operation. John next worked with Accel Partners, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, and several international mining houses, to establish Global HubCo B.V. in London, England to develop global e-marketplaces for trading of commodities. In 2002, John established Loewen & Partners, an investment banking firm that specializes in assisting private companies access institutional growth capital.

William H. Smith
Corporate Secretary

William H. Smith, Q.C., is a partner of McCarthy Tétrault LLP’s Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions Group in Calgary.

Mr. Smith is involved in the legal aspects of local, national and international business transactions. These assignments include equity and debt financing, complex corporate mergers, takeover bids and asset transactions. He is an advisor to public and private companies, individuals and corporate boards involved in a wide variety of businesses, including technology, manufacturing, finance, resources and services. On public company finance matters, Mr. Smith works with both issuers and corporate finance advisors. He also has significant experience with technology transfer and finance of technology companies.

Mr. Smith served as acting chief executive officer of the Alberta Securities Commission. Mr. Smith chaired the Alberta Securities Commission Securities Advisory Committee for the last 10 years. He is regularly invited to present seminars on various aspects of corporate governance, business organization and structure and is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Calgary. He is a director or senior officer of a number of public and private companies and not for profit organizations.

Michael T. Murphy, P.Geol,
Vice President, Exploration

Mr. Murphy has been employed as a geologist by Marauder Resources East Coast Inc since 2004, focusing on prospects in the Canadian Arctic and offshore, offshore Greenland, the Middle East and North Africa. Mr. Murphy has supervised well site operations, assisted in implementing drilling programs, and has extensive experience analyzing potential exploration prospects and field acquisitions. Mr. Murphy holds a BSc degree in Geology, Applied and Environmental Geology from the University of Calgary. He is a professional member of APEGGA, member of the AAPG and CSPG, and also holds the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute. Mr. Murphy was promoted to VP Exploration for Marauder in 2009.

D. Jon Axford
Director

An oil and gas landman with over 25 years of industry experience; Mr. Jon Axford’s chief responsibilities are to source and negotiate all aspects of oil and gas contracts. Mr. Jon Axford has an undergraduate degree in mathematics.

Donald J. Kempf, P. Land
Director


Mr. Kempf has 43 years of experience in all land related aspects of the petroleum industry in both the domestic and international areas. After having spent 15 years at Pacific Petroleums Ltd. and a small portion of that time at Petro-Canada where he attained the position of Land Manager, he went on to Ocelot Energy Inc. He stayed at Ocelot Energy Inc. for a period of 20 years in his capacity of Senior Manager - Land and Evaluations. With this company he was involved in negotiations in Cameroon and the negotiation and signing of an Exploration and Production Contract as well as an Exploitation and Production Contract in Gabon. On the domestic front he was involved in all divestitures amounting to $C 1.3 billion. For the past 5 years Mr. Kempf has worked at EnCana Corporation as Group Lead, Land, being responsible for all land related matters relative to the offshore area of Atlantic Canada and most recently the Northwest Territories as well.

Paul Gouin
Director

Mr. Gouin is an engineer with over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry who specializes in the supervision of drilling difficult wells, including highly pressured, deep and critically sour wells. Mr. Gouin has been employed by two major international oil and gas companies and currently is a consultant for a number of major oil and gas companies. Mr. Gouin has managed drilling and completion operations in the U.S. Gulf Coast, the Wyoming “hard rock region” and the Western Canadian Foothills.
